supervision providing client intakes, offering supportive counselling, and organizing/facilitating bereavement groups.

Employment in a cancer centre as a float/ part-time nurse through all
clinical areas. Duties included treatment review, chemotherapy administration, phone support, and patient teaching/ support.
May 1994-1996: Hospice of London, London, Ontario
Patient and family volunteer as well as bereavement training for phone
and follow up support.
1987 – 1993: Hematology- Oncology Associates of Northwest Florida,
Tallahassee, Florida
Advanced primary nurse position (Oncology Certified Nurse through the International Oncology Nursing Society) involving patient interviewing, support, and teaching. Followed patients and their families through the course of diagnosis, treatment, and follow up care. Chemotherapy administration, triage phone calls and phone support, community networking and referrals. Taught chemotherapy certification courses to affiliated healthcare agencies.
1987 – 1993: Big Bend Hospice, Tallahassee, Florida
After hours triage of phone calls and support to patients with terminal
illness and their families. Home visits for assessment and support during illness, death events, and bereavement care. Facilitated bereavement support groups for family members.
1984 – 1987: Tallahassee Neurological Clinic, Tallahassee, Florida
Neurophysiologic testing, interviewing patients, triage phone calls,
and community referrals. Work involved support of patients with chronic
pain and disability.
1983 – 1984: Tallahassee Community Hospital, Tallahassee, Florida
Charge nurse in ICU/CCU area. High-acuity patients and knowledge of
critical care. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
